Irish trio Adebisi Shank, already causing a stir in Europe with their wicked-precise guitar harmonising and boundless energy. ‘This Is The Second Album Of A Band Called Adebisi Shank’,unsurprisingly, is their second album.

All of the songs are instrumental, although some of the melodies are taken from what sounds like mysterious vocal/verbal samples. Now add to that the kind of psychotic rhythms and counter melodies Primus were known for…if you want to hear a more melodic and eclectic version of Battles, this is for you.

The music isn’t easily categorised, the fluctuations in tempo, volume, and overall intensity make each song a progressive exploration of texture and melody. Due in part to a sheer glut of instruments, one minute you’re listening to vicious shredding, and the next a blissed-out Peter Gabriel/Animal Collective style groove.
