If you’re even remotely a fan of Australian hip hop, you would’ve heard of Class A. The Melbourne-based rapper is no stranger to the rap game, and in both 2008 and 2009 was voted Australia’s Best Female MC in the OzHip-Hop.com Awards, off the back of her EPs ‘Class In Session’ and ‘Class With Parker’.

She’s awesome. But don’t take my word for it, take Urthboy‘s: “In a blokey culture she retains a cool feminine style that celebrates her world, her loves and hip hop. Watch out for the lady!” Or, take Hau‘s “She presents a cool style to this scene with the ability to chop and change between rapping and singing, boasting and being insightful and being playful and serious. Her strength is in her versatility which, I feel, will overshadow a lot of other MCs, male and female.”

Her latest album, ‘Me, Me, Me & Him: The Secret Life Of A Receptionist‘ is undoubtedly her finest to date. Though firmly rooted in Oz hip hop, the 15 track LP is much more than your typical local release, blending traditional old school beats with some more experimental and electronic sounds, all of them (well, save for an instrumental or two) adorned with Class A’s unmistakeable lyrical prowess.
