Heavenly Melbourne warbler and multiple ARIA-nominee Lisa Miller released the follow up to her hugely successful Car Tape – sporting the apt moniker Car Tape 2 – earlier this year on Raoul Records through Other Tongues. It’s been widely revered by critics, with Lisa again being praised for her genius reworkings of classic songs. Below is such an example: Lisa’s beautiful interpretation of Curtis Mayfield’s “Superfly”. Enjoy!

Former 4AD signee, founding member of The Delgados and current bonnie lass Emma Pollock released her most recent solo album, The Law Of Large Numbers, earlier this year through Other Tongues on Scottish label Chemikal Underground, (home of Arab Strap, Aerogramme and Mogwai, among others). The below track – I Could Be A Saint – is beautiful, melodic and features one of the best pre-choruses you’ll hear all year, (guaranteed!)

For those who don’t know, we released Múm’s new album a little while ago. It’s quite beautiful: ethereal, evocative and sometimes naïvely utopic songs with just the right amount of Icelandic eccentricity. It’s more laid back than both ‘Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy’ and ‘Summer Make Good’, and arguably a career peak. Check out and download the radio edit of “Sing Along” below.

Fang Island are truly unique band. Their music is uplifting, majestic, intelligent, and from the very first plagal cadence on their self-titled debut album, will make you want to high-five everyone in your general vicinity, (guaranteed). They write anthems without irony, characterised by a face-melting wall of guitars and soaring keyboard lines. Their songs encompass elements of progressive rock, though eschew the elitism usually associated with it. Think a combination of Dappled Cities and Muse, without the pretension of either.
